What areas in your life are you “burying,” rather than using for God?

 

Wednesday: Read Matthew 25:31-46

Have you ever been stopped by someone begging in the street?

What did you do?

What principle is Jesus teaching in this passage?

 

Thursday: Read Matthew 26:47-56

Have you ever been betrayed by someone close to you?

Why is Jesus being arrested here? What has He done to deserve it?

How should we respond when we are betrayed by someone close to us? Why?

 

Friday: Read Matthew 27:26-31

Why did the soldiers mock Jesus?

Why did Jesus put up with these things?

How do your sufferings compare to what Jesus went through?

How does your response compare with His?

 

Saturday: Read Matthew 28:1-20

Monday – Read Isaiah 7:10-14 and Matthew 1:22-23

What is significant about Jesus being born of a virgin?

What does His virgin birth tell us about Jesus?

What does it mean to our lives that Jesus is “Immanuel” – God with us?

Tuesday – Read Isaiah 53:1-12

What do we see about the life of Jesus here?

Why was this necessary to save His people from their sin?

As one who has been forgiven of your sin what do you want to say to Jesus right now?

 

Wednesday – Read Psalm 2:1-12

How is the Messiah revealed in verse 7?

Why is this important?

According to this passage, how successful will the nations ultimately be in rejecting Jesus?

What hope does this give us?

How should we live in light of that hope?

 

Thursday – Read Isaiah 9:1-7

How is Jesus as Messiah described in this passage?

What comfort do you find in hos Jesus is described in verse 6?

How long will His kingdom last?

What hope does this give you for living for Him today?

 

Friday – Read Isaiah 11:1-5

How is Jesus the Messiah described in this passage?

What jumps out at you the most?

What evidence of Jesus’ power do you see here?

How does this passage challenge you?

How does it encourage you?

 

Saturday – Read Matthew 21:1-11

Verse 7 is a key verse to understanding how God views people. What does this verse say to you?

Do you find this to be encouraging or discouraging?

Why is it important to understand this truth?

How does that fit with I Samuel 17:7 that we read yesterday?

Why is it important to know that God exposes the motives of men’s hearts? Does that give you confidence or cause you fear?

What does this passage tell us about how Jesus has organized His church?

What confidence and hope does this give us?

What challenge does it present to us?

What is Jesus saying to you? What will you do?

 

Thursday – Read Ephesians 4:17-24

Why is it important to put off the old self as we live for Jesus?

Where will the old self take us if we focus on it? Why?

By what power may we put off the old and put on the new?

How is this passage challenging you? How will you respond?

 

Friday – Read Ephesians 5:15-21

How can we live in wisdom and make the most of every opportunity the Lord gives us?

Why is it important to be filled with the Holy Spirit?

How does submitting first to Jesus and then to each other help us to better live for Jesus and reveal Him to the world around us?
